the box is maple and the top and legs are gumwood stained with minwax colonial pine finished with shop made wipe on poly

cool box—-i like the taper on the top of legs—that takes away the square look

Nice Box, has a real sturdy look, I like the taper as well, the drawer is a good added feature, thanks for sharing

That is so cool. forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how to you make the legs so that they wrap around the piece like that?

Thanks for the nice comments. Legs were made by routing a 1/2” rabbit in 1” square stock and actually the taper was kind of an afterthought but it seems to work

Outstanding! I love everything about the look of this piece: the contrasting woods, the taper on the legs, the “hidden” drawer on the front…
