I thought the Wood Whisper’s pencil holder was a great little weekend project. I got part way into the job and decided to add a bit of a twist. I added a slot for business cards!
I’m not 100% sure what the wood is (I “acquired” from my dad’s lumber pile).
Finish is Arm-R-Shield. I think I’ll give it a few more coats then give it to my dad as a thank you for the lumber that he “gave” me!!!

I’m gonna steal your nice idea to make the business card holder my daughter asked for. Now I just need a piece of nice lumber to “liberate” – to keep in the spirit of things.

I like your pencil holder/ business card holder. neat idea. The wood you used is walnut. Keep up the good work.

Way to use the “reclaimed” lumber. Definitely looks like Walnut to me. I’ve only used a limited number of woods, but walnut is my favorite. Can’t be sure as to what type of Walnut. Great redesign. Keep raiding your Dad’s stock!

Good looking project. USCJeff – that wasn’t “reclaimed” lumber it was “Claimed” lumber. I guess that is what us dad’s are for – half of my hand tools are in Baton Rouge with my youngest son :-))

cool. The business card section could also hold sticky notes ready to use.
