Found some pix of this gift box to share. We selected Douglas Fir because it didn’t take attention from the spalted maple top. Accents are walnut. I make the glass beads which we use for knobs and drawer pulls. Finish is wipe on poly. Rained all night but sunny now. Let it be dry!!

Very nice. Certainly a spectacular piece of maple …and it works perfectly with the fir. Nice base detail and the lift complements the lid nicely. Well done.

The top is really nice. Did you do this on a router table?

Yes, Bill built his router table adjacent to the table saw – very convenient. Both can use the same fence.

beautiful !, very good design and pairing of woods. The hand-made glass pull/lift is also a nice touch.

This forum is interesting. So very positive!

Yes, nice box. But the handle is crooked!
