The CNC Environment is very dirty; chips get into the keyboard and stick the keys. I made this out of ¾”, plywood for the sides, 3/16” on the bottom and thin vinyl plastic for the cover. I picked up the vinyl a JoAnns Fabrics.

Another trick I have seen used in a bakery, and on a pig farm, where fingers are always so dusty or grubby, is a loose sheet of cling film (as used in the kichen) simply laid across the top. It can be changed every day if necessary and stays in place by itself.
