Fibonacci Box

I made this simple box for my son’s 43rd birthday. He came down from Vancouver for Xmas and was verry interested in my Fibonacci gauge. This is my first box and first box joints. It’s not a piece of art, but it is dead-on the Golden Rule. lol I now have a deeper appreciation for box makers. I found it hard to work with such little pieces of wood; I’m used to much bigger furniture. The box is made with reclaimed drawer Pine boards used to test my Combo Drum Sander. The Teak was from old table legs. The sander was very good at sanding the box joints and making the box bottom flat. Tks for looking.

That is one beautiful first box, Your woodworking talent is certainly evident in this piece, nice style and wood choices, the golden rule (you have to remind me on the specs), usually I make sizes dependent on what stock size I have available, and a general feel for proportion and size, sorta the poor man’s rule, lols Thanks for sharing

Tks for the compliments. Here’s a good start to learn more about Fibonacci in woodworking.

Nice box Paul. Seems you´re getting quite acquainted with the sander.

Great idea to fill the box with the Fibonacci gauge as well
