Splay Legged Table by Garret Hack on FW – sorry no process pictures but this ended up being a lot fast than I thought – all the parts were cut and finished in one 2 hour session, with the exception of the top.
Ended up putting the walnut surround on due to not having a single board wide enough and wanted to minimize gluing.
Was my first time with the bead addon on the bottom, so much quicker/easier than standard tenons and really like the look.
Great, quick and educational project – took some good ideas away from this one.
Finished with Sam Maloof oil – first time and am hooked on the stuff now.

That is a cool looking table.
I like both the angle on the bottom of the walnut, and the bead cut into the apron.
Really nice.

Beautiful playful stuff. Is there an article this design came from?
Thanks for sharing!

Yes – I believe it was an article he had in FW “Splay Leg” or something like that.
Have your say...
