My bride creates some excellent dishes for her extremely lucky husband. There happens to exist a variety of books from which inspiration comes to create these superior dishes. These books needed a place to live that did not take up valuable counter space so I built this wall shelf. Not only is my bride a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen she wanted to do the finishing work on the shelf and did a GREAT job! She used Old Fashioned Milk Paint, Bayberry Green over Buttermilk. She distressed the Bayberry lightly by sanding through to reveal the Buttermilk. For the topcoat she sealed it with Enduro-Var water based urethane. We thought this project would be a great place to incorporate the through tenons on the sides. The idea was taken from an old settle we saw several years ago.

Great job to the both of you : )
Those little brooms are so cool and go nicely with the shelf.

Very nice. I like that shelf a lot. How is it attached to the wall?
