Nice, wow, you must live in a warm climate, there’s no snow on the ground! It must be real nice to have green grass and Spring.

Cool, you’ve come a long way, baby!

(I would paint the hinges and screws black, myself.)

Thanks you guys. It really isn’t spring here yet.. just looks like it in the picture I guess. Not long after I took the picture it starting raining/sleeting pour snowy ice balls again. Julie- Funny that you said that because I just said the same thing! I have some metal paint- and I soaked the hinges in vinegar for two days before I put them on… think the paint will stick?

-The dragonfly and file table are just payback for all of the times i wanted her to clean her room, and then she bragged about doing some chore i never requested!

Christine- I know da drill- I raised 3 daughters…. ‘nuf said…
Dusty- the wood for this primitive stuff is pine, pine and more pine… :( But I guess if you’re going to paint it all up there is no sense using cherry. ;) I will probably paint the hinges tomorrow. And will take a new pic when I get it finished.

Hi there, Kelly:

Well….you ‘ve come through again with another stellar job on your cabinet. I like it…..I like it that you include the diminisions as well…. I always include them when I build something, and I think everyone should (just my observation)....I have one question….being 7” deep, how many rolls of toilet paper can you cram in there to fill’er up?....lol. That’s what I’d use it for…..Soft white will look good with the red…

Well Rick, my best estimation is abou 20-24 rolls I guess? That’s what I would probably use it for too. Or CD’s I suppose would fit in there pretty nicely. I always include the dimensions so someone else can build it if they want. I figure there isn’t much “secret” about the dimensions of a simple cabinet. Afterall I am sure I borrowed the stuff from someone else, and if I could remember who it was I would credit them. :) One company that I “borrow” from regularly doesn’t publish the dimensions of their stuff – not even in there wholesale catalog. Of course they are trying to prevent piracy. HOWEVER, in their catalog and facebook photos, they generally put the item in a grouping next to something else- let’s say- toilet paper and I just use that as a measuring tool and take it from there.

Kelly,
You’re right…. a lot of companys won’t post or give diminisions in their catalogs or even a webpage. I guess it’s because ,like you said, a fear of highjacking or piracy…..That’s one reason why I don’t use plans…I’d rather make to suit myself or a customer….I rely on customers to give me the information about what they want, and we go from there…..Keep up the beautiful work… I always enjoy your projects and blogs…..Thanks, Kelly.
Edit: Yes…. I agree…CDs and DVDs would fit nicely in the cabinet. I still like the toilet paper idea…...lol.

Rick If they don’t give dimensions, how is a person to know if they want ti or not?

another nice job Kelly. When do the spring trade shows start?

Back in buisness Kelly.
And you are for sure not a beginner now.
