That is a deceptively beautiful box. It took me a few minutes to really like it. I think it is the way you attached the floor that accents the simple lid.

How did the corners work?

For the hinge is just a simple 1/2” X 1 1/4” brass hinge, that is recessed into the lid and the box as well. I have ordered some Kerf-Cut Hinges, and the cutter but it has not yet came in, hopefully soon they sure make small boxes look clean.
Im adding two more pictures of the back of the box.

On the corners I cut 45deg on the cherry, then cut the pieces of aspen glued them all in the sanded the sides smooth then routed them.

Thanks for the update on the hinges. Something about your box really caught my eye, it just looks like a real nice small keep sake box.

Sharp looking box, I concur with the above compliments, I think for me, it looks Modern, or futuristic kinda, great intriguing design, thanks for sharing
