This is my kitchen dinning room canoe light I built.. the canoe is 8 feet long and 17” wide. Covered in canvas then filled with special canvas filler and then red paint.. The inside has many coats of varnish and rubbed out for a nice smooth feel. The two seats in the canoe are hand caned. all the inside work that you can’t see was built with cherry lumber..

Very nice and if you ever have a flood you’ll be OK.

Two years ago I purchased a 15 ft. American Trader cedar strip canoe in Mackinaw City. Their response was “What! Are you actually going to put this canoe in the water? Apparently a great many of these canoes are used strictly for decorative purposes.

It paddles like a dream, also a good solo canoe. I’d love to build one someday.
