So My Wife is back east taking our son “college shopping” for 10 days. UNLIMITED GARAGE TIME! And nice weather too! So what should I do… find some great pieces of wood, and turn them. Wow, heres what I got. Some box elder, ash, elm, birch, apple, and silver maple, one of them I did the Trifern Dye Job. I will show some more detailed pictures later tonight. Some are finished with varying shades of shellac, mineral oil and bees wax, and some just mineral oil. Fun fun fun, 3 bowls went to work with me, so they didn’t get in the pictures I have sanded the skin off my fingers, so now what should I do? Go to Lumberjock and post some stuff, eat a cadbury cream egg, and watch the Red Sox beat the stuffing out of the Astros, 5-0 in the first inning. I think tomorrow I will turn a lamp shade, finnally found my faceploate, buried under some chunks of wood. You know, it seems those experienced turners were right about not worrying about enough wood, 4 years ago, I scavenged for enough wood to turn, now I have to turn it.
I do miss my Wife though! Just keeping myself busy in her absence.
Thanks for checking this stuff out. All comments and criticism is welcome.

Very nice work. I like the biggest one the most. But they are all excellent. May your chuck always be tight.

We woodworkers are a sad lot. We can’t wait for our wives to leave town so we can “fool around” all we want. :-)
Nice bowls!

A gorgeous set of bowls, just beautiful. I love all the different woods.
