hi there , i got a lil time in the shope last night and decided to make a fishing rod holder out of cherry wood … i just used a couple of pieces that i considered scraps to make this .... as for the plans i just took my poles out to the shop and just went with it and used my band saw to cut out notches … i lined the cut edges with felt… i applied a cherry stain and lemon seed oil rubbed finish … i really love to get in the shop with my son and make day or weekend useful projects and using scrap or reclaimed woods ..thanks for looking sincerely dennis

Very nice! That will keep them out of the closet.

That is a nice project and it serves as a reminder about the need to keep all of our cut-offs. Getting your son involved is great as well. This sure beats spending time in front of the tv playing video games.

That’s what those long rods in my basement are for. I forgot.
