Well, FINALLY able to share something. Last year I started raising the Monarch butterfly. Wanted to make something special so we all can sit and share the moments while raising them. I made this cage (with a little help from hubby) It’s 5 feet high X 3 feet wide and 11 inches wide. I’ll wanted to be able to put my milkweed in pots instead of tearing the ones up for food in my garden. They will have a nice supply of food when they start eating. Which is right after they hatch from the eggs. I have glass on the front and sides along with the bottom and back with screen. The glass will make it much easier to watch and take pictures. The screen will let them live in a more natural environment. I also have glass on top and they will have plenty of areas to choose to hang from. I’ll have branches in the pots so they can climb when it’s time to hang and turn into a pupa. I decided to add just a touch of decor..a butterfly (of course!) and a caterpillar for my door handle. It’s been fun making my cage and I can’t wait to start seeing the butterfly come to lay their eggs and watch the process again this year. This will sit on my deck so we will be able to do “deck time” and enjoy watching.
Thanks for looking.

this is wonderful.
When I first saw the handle I thought it was the caterpillar :)
