This is the second installment of my many birdhouses I have made and placed all over my property. Here’s a link to the first installment: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/26683
I recently found a pattern for a birdhouse that I haven’t seen before. Had some pallet wood already separated and planed down, so the Cat Faced (pic 1) birdhouse was an easy weekend project. Cut the front on the scroll saw and finished the rest on the table saw. A quick shot of spray latex paint and it was ready to hang!
I couldn’t just post a single birdhouse, so I thought I would include some of those I did in the recent past that the birds are already making nests in….....
Pic 2 is my “Post-Modern” style FL Wright house made from white oak scraps.
Pic 3 is a simple designed house my Wife decided to decorate – this is a WELL used house. 100% exterior grade plywood.
Pic 4 is a house totally made from PVC Lumber – been up for two years and not a single visitor. Any ideas why????
Pics 5 & 6 show what five years of weather and birds can do to a house. I made a caravan inspired house and hung this up in early 2006. Pic 6 shows what it looks like now – still used all the time though. :-)
