The tasting bar is the companion to The Boomerang Bar at The Horseradish, It is over 10 feet long and is made from 7 wine barrel lids and 50 additional pieces. The base is made from black laminated MDF and is finished off in the front by one complete barrel of staves. It has 7 coasts of poly and I also built a back service bar to match. 200 + hours to finish.

Interesting way to use barrels.
I went to their website.
With those hours they would be out of business in Atlanta in two weeks.

I, too, use a lot of oak barrels in my wood craft business. I’m in Kentucky, so retired bourbon barrels are my most frequent source of materials.
One of my favorite finishes is an authentic fumed ammonia mission oak treatment. I also do a nice black iron and vinegar finish. Lately I’ve been experimenting with a Potassium Bichromate treatment that gives a great aged look.
I blend all of my own finishes, with a tung oil and polyurethane varnish being my most used.
