There’ve been two other height gauges posted today:

I am offering a third option which I also use to find measurements (thickness, depth of dados, diameters (e.g. of a rod), etc.) of objects in addition to setting tablesaw blade and router bit heights. The clip is used when I want to use a repeat height setting.

The digital caliper was from BusyBee Tools ( (also available from Princess Auto) for under $10. It is mounted after some simple alterations on a scrap bracket platform, using CA glue or epoxy glue.

A dirt cheap but absolute precision-proof tool.

As long as it works, it’s a great jig! Thanks.

PS: On the background it looks like the Taunton Press Jigs & Techinques book, right?

Great idea! It looks identical to the caliper I bought at harbor freight for less than $10.
