I was giving a limb of Cedar and figured that there wasn’t much that I could do with it other than making some smaller goblets. It was still a little wet but I turned one anyways and turned out pretty good. So far I haven’t had any checking and it has been about 5 days now. I haven’t turned any Cedar yet. I loved the smell that filled the shop as I was turning it. This goblet is 4 1/2” x 2 1/4” and sanded to 600 grit them micro-meshed to 12000 grit and friction polish waxed. I will be turning more Cedar here this next week.

Adam, this is a nice looking piece. I love the coloring and character the cedar has. Whenever I see projects like this it makes me want to make room for a lathe in my shop since it looks like you had a lot of fun turning this one out.

Thanks Scott. I also love the color the Cedar has. Especially the smell. The wife says it smells like hamster bedding..I love it. You don’t have a lathe in your shop, need to get working on that man!! These turning projects are def alot of fun.
