Shortly after I joined a wood working club they had a bandsaw box challenge. This is the first time I had used a band saw and even had to go purchase a 14 in. bandsaw :) .
The front is made with lacewood, ebony fret board and drawer pulls. The layers are maple, ebony and lace wood. I made the neck out of maple and fashioned it to resemble a Fender Strat. I removed and cut down frets from an old guitar neck and inset them into the neck. The dots on the fret board are guitar picks cut out with a leather punch. The overall height is roughly 13 in.
This was given to my husband as a gift, he is a guitar player and he uses it to store guitar picks.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice! I had an idea to something similar but not nearly as detailed as yours. Great job!

Nice!
I have just started to do some bandsaw boxes, the choices are limitless.
I really like your choice of wood.
How did you make the tuning keys?

Thank you for the nice comments.
Chuck, the tuning pegs were two different size beads from a local craft store, kinda cheesy, but couldn’t figure out what else to use for the small size of the guitar that would like close to the real thing. I too really enjoyed making them. I have two more bandsaw boxes to post. The woodworking club I belong to is such a vast amount of talented people willing to share thier knowledge, I love being a part of it !!!
