This is a puzzle I made for my wife. the box is made of mahogany and the puzzle is glued to quarter inch oak plywood. Dimensions are just under 10” x 8” x 3”. I used a continuous grain method for the joinery. The splices are beach. I use my table saw to cut the waste from the box and then a eighth inch flat file to square the grooves for the spines.
The picture was taken twenty-three years ago, we had been married for only half a year.

Not a bad start for a happy marriage, nice looking box and puzzle. The fact that you still have it and the
memories indicates a few happy memories and the possibility of many more. Hope you are still here in
another 23 years with more memories. Great little first project, good job on the hand finishing and fine
points, now quit being so bashful. Thank you for sharing and we hope to see more of you in the
future.

Very cool box and puzzle. Way to score some brownie points.

22 1/2 years later you finally got around to popping the question? This patience is obviously what attracts you to scrolling… Great job!

This is at Ian, I wrote that the picture was taken about half a year after we were married. We were together seven years before the wedding.
This at Bluepine. I can only hope to still be here in another twenty three years, and I don’t know what I said to indicate that this was my first project, it isn’t.
It’s all good thanks for the comments

Thanks Pete, and yeah there can never be enough brownie points. When I was in the military I was told by my Sargent that one “AW shucks” wipes out a thousand atta boys. Or words to that effect.
