This is a slightly smaller version of the Garden Bench. I is made from recycled wine barrel staves and barrel heads. The frame is the only non wine barrel items and it is made from recycled white oak I resqued from a house demo. The natural curve of the barrel staves make this bench very comfortable. It has specail features like the side tables for setting your wine glass or plate of cheese on, as well as the center back support is the bung hole stave. Stained with Minwax and coated 7 times with MinWax ClearSheild to protect it from the weather.

That is an awesom use for recycled barrels. Much better than planters! I am awed by the creativity.

Very nice. I really like the aged tone of the wood. Wish I could find some of those barrels

Did you use 1/2 barrels (like from BORG) or is it from full barrel? Very nice.

Great idea. That seat should last a long time.

What a great use for an old wine barrel.
Bet it smelled real nice before sealing it.

Another excellent project. There was a fellow down here in Florida doing similar work recycling old water skis. We bought a love seat from him and had it for years until hurricane Charlie decided to claim it a few years ago. Comfortable chair.

Another comfortable looking piece of yard furniture. I thought that you had a pet black bear when I first saw that third picture. Bet nobody tries to sit on that bench while he’s using it :-)). Where do you get the barrels?

Nice save, I really lke the pattern\design on the seat back, looks like you strategically placed the barrell ring marks so that you get the stair type pattern. Nice.

Is there a brace behind that seat back? How do you keep them from bending backwards?

The patina of the burnt wood really adds to its appearance.
Great craftsmanship!

Very creative, best use of an old barrel I’ve ever seen. Great craftsmanship to make it as you did. Love the built in patina!
