I thought I would start posting some of my favorite scroll work that I have done, and these mandalas are definitely one of my favorite’s. I personally like to make wind chimes out of them, but I have just put them in my window just as they are and they look nice from outside. My favorite thing to do with them is to place a crystal in the center and then hang them from a sunny window so the colors from the sun and the crystal can be seen on the walls and the ceiling. (Which I might add DRIVES my Australian Shepherd cross dog NUTS!!!) He loves to chase any kind of light or light beam.
This is from a book titled Coloring Mandalas, for Balance, Harmony, and Spiritual Well Being. It is a coloring book, however it also explains all about the history of the “circle”. I love these things and have made several of them out of this book out of wood. As you can see I used copper tubing on this one for the chimes and I swear by the stuff. The sound (to me anyway) is such a nice one , I prefer the tubing over the chimes you can buy at craft stores for this reason.
These are all made out of pine and sometimes I do stain them and other times I just spray some clear on them or whatever depending on whether or not they are going to be inside or outside.
