My daughter wanted a picket fence bed so I figured I would give it a shot. It was built to hold a box spring and matteress but then my daughter didn’t like being up high so now it’s a platform bed. I used poplar since she wanted it painted and it worked out pretty well. My mom did all the stenciling and painting of the little dog houses. The sample bed I used had finnials but we thought the dog houses would look better. It was a lot of fun to make.

Cool…. Great job… nothing like a labor of love.

This bed is just adorable. Great project, and details. I also enjoyed reading how the whole family was involved.

Thanks everyone – it was a great project and she does love the bed. My son and daughter share the room and now my son is asking for a new bed. Looks like I’ll be busy for a while again…
