Maple and Zebrawood bed to match desk for son’s room.
Double bed. Frame made from maple, head and foot have inlays of Zebrawood. The legs each have a Zebrawood cap. Sorry about the pictures, they are from a phone, I tried to lighten them up. Added a drawing I made to give him at Christmas.

With All Due Respect:
It would be nice if you put some “Construction Details”, “Sizes”, “Finish” etc. with this Project and “Lightened up the Pics so we could see them better.
Might very well be the reason I’m the only one to Comment in the 3 Hours it’s been up.

very nice bed, could l make a simular bed to this but king size?
I want to make my son a king size bed, but is 6 ft tall and 300 lbs so need to make extra strong.
Could you email me to tell me measurements and how you secured side rails to head and foot boards is there a kit l should order on line etc?
Thanks Jim

Jim,
certainly make the bed! I used maple bed slats to support the mattress (3 slats about 3 inches wide by almost an inch thick) . The slats are secured to the side rails using hardware I found a Rockler. My son is about 5’-10” and weights about 260 and the bed has no problems with him.
good luck
