I have been doing a lot of slant-sided boxes with the wider dimension at the top….I thought I would try something a bit different. This Hickory box with Padauk accents has a lift-off lid and a battery operated, glow-in-the-dark dial clock in the front face, and it would make a good desk or night stand piece. Approx 4×7 inches, finished with spray poly. (mouse not included)

Jb,

I absolutely love this box with the addition of the clock!!

If you don’t mind sharing what is your technique to get the slanted sides?

Great piece!!

”illuminated dial clock” Can you turn the light off easily or do you need to remove the clock from the box ?
Nice idea and wood combination : )

Nice idea, and well done, as usual. And still another lift variation! It’s great to see someone exploring multiple function boxes. The “box” seems like a good platform for an unlimited range of possibilities for such combinations.

That clock was a great idea and I really like the angles. Awesome job.

Now that’s thinking outside the box. Very nice and original.

Nice box, interesting design, fine choice of woods, and excellent construction, reminds me of Holland, don’t know why, that is a good thing though, thanks for sharing

Very well done and superb interesting design. It gave me an idea of doing something else with it. I need a bedside clock and a way to hide the Kleenex. lol Tks for sharing.
