I purchased a piece redwood- 2 inches by 12 inches and about 40 inches long. The wood supplier saw me coming and it landed in my workshop. It knocked about in my wood storage shop for several years when I met a turner who made me a plate. It turned out well as far as I was concerned and reminded me of a church collection plate. It’s in my bookcase and donations are welcomed whenever people visit me (beer money). Another piece was laminated to give me enough thickness for a boot. It has a beautiful colour. The growth rings sanded out at different rates giving the piece it’s character.
PS I have a nice collection of LP’s shown in the photos. Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass allow me to think of the days of my youth. Great music!
