Made a set of 4 shelf and rod units for a friend out of Poplar. Shelf is 12” dp.x38”wide x 1” thick. Support brackets are 1 1/4”thick x 15”dp. x 13” high. Rods are shaped o/o 2×2 Fir square stock to achieve a full 1 1/2” Dia. and captured by a 1/2” dp. pole socket hole in the support bracket. Added my own idea for a good profile on the brackets as well. Shelf is elevated as an added detail feature. These wil be mounted to the wall via-the under shelf back board. Thay will be top coated with an oil-based, off white “Pickled” varnish. It was just a small project, but lots-a-fun.

Nice profile….simple but adds a lot. Is that a horse blanket I see, Tim?

Yes Toni “Tis indead”, although I don’t own a horse, we love western and cowboy decore for our house. Look at my post about our house lower level design and you’ll get a feel for what we’ve done.
