The boards for this table top were found stored in the attic of an old office bldg. The owner gave them to me in exchange for helping him clear out the attic so he could sell the bldg. One of the boards has the cutouts on the underside from being used as a stringer for a staircase in an old house or bldg. in south Louisiana. There was a letter attached to the wood written by a man who was believed to have salvaged the wood decades earlier. Turns out he was a furniture builder in south Louisiana, who put the boards up for use at a later date. The table is 30”w x 10’-3” long. The legs are turned from reclaimed Louisiana cypress, and has a hand rubbed oil finish. The setting is in a parade of homes showhouse.

Table and room looks great! Nice save on some old wood.

Beautifully executed table and to know it’s reclaimed wood is extra special. The setting really does it justice!

That is a beautiful table. Do you have a guess as to what type of wood it is?
