Small box project

I recently bought a large amount of quilted makore veneer and wanted a quick project just to practice my veneering a bit.
This box is made of Phillipine mahogany with maple and walnut inlayed around the makore lid panel. The lift is also walnut.
I used a few coats of wipe on poly for the finish, followed by a rub out of my new favorite paste wax, Liberon, applied with 0000 steel wool and buffed by hand.
Simple brass hinges.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice, subtle beauty, smooth coordination of color, lines, and proportions, a real eye catcher, fine craftsmanship is evident, thanks for sharing

My kind of box. It’s beautiful.

Very nice. I especially like the quilted veneer top. Do you use a vacuum bag?
Cheers

beautiful box. I’ve also used figured makore in my box making, and love the wood.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Glen, I have not ventured over to vacuum veneering yet, for now I use heat activated glue and an iron. It works quite well, for small flat stuff anyway.
