Hi everyone!
I just finished this Magic Table project for my Stepson, Bill. (He is the dude in the pictures) He is an amateur magician working his way through college at Drexel University in Philly.
The base is 3/4 plywood, the legs are 2X4s ripped to 1 1/2X1 1/2. The top doors are 1/2 birch plywood with hardwood dowels as bars with a pine box. The Table is 1/2 in birch plywood made with routed rabbets. The drawers are 1/2 in plywood with hardboard dividers. I also did a sketch-up of this design from a very crude sketch Bill gave me. And he is studying to be an engineer, go figure! Bill likes it so much he wants me to advertise it and try to sell them to other aspiring magicians. Are there any out there who would like one of there very own? I work for wood!
Thanks for looking,
Ted

Very intresting table. It has a Vaudeville simplicity about it, quite nastalgic and whimsical.

When does the show start?

It reminded me of being in kindergarden an going to magic shows in the gymn. The magician had a box very simuliar to this. Iam sure a lot of kids will be amazed because of your efforts. Great job.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Bill has it loaded for his first magic show with it. He is going to do some volunteer work at a local senior center to get some exposure.

Friend of mine has been Lance Burton’s stagehand since his days at Hacienda (now Mandalay Bay). I learned a thing or three from Lance. I used to be heavily into magic and juggling, but I’m still a clown (haha)!
