Once I had the border looking the way I wanted I started working on the deer. Now mind you I am NOT trying to do an exact deer on this. It’s just my version of my project. The next picture I started on the antlers. Did I ever mention how NUTS I am?? LOL ALot of twisting and turning and working from one end of the panel to the other just to work things right. Fun oh yeah, it was. The last picture is when I started on the left deer.
Well that’s it for now. Thanks for looking and any comments is apprieciated!

so are the deer all on the “same level” but with curves & lines carved in to create / give the illusion of different layers?? Or, am I way off on how this is done?
Nuts?? lol.. well,... ah.. no way – a skilled artist, all the way.

The deer are not level. I am not using lines to create the illuision of depth. That’s why it’s taken me sometime to finish it. Not that I am in a hurry to get it done. I don’t “play” like that! LOL I know it’s hard to see with the wood undone and hopefully when I get it stained that the effect will show up good on a picture. The whole border is about 1/2 inch thick and then it flows from the ground to the deer antlers and then it just keeps going back. I hope I said that ok.
Thanks for the comments-love reading. Feels like I am accomplishing something.

Looks like it’s shaping up, & it looks like a nice match on your glue lines.
