Hello lumberjocks.
This is a bench i built for my wife out of birch and jetoba. The birch is from some trees i fell a few years back and got a buddy to mill to 5/4”. This explains why alot of my projects are made from this, even the bowls. (not Maple).
The joinery is interesting the draw dowls for the mortise and tennon are used to dowl the shorts of the box. Wish i took pictures when gluing up. Got the idea out of a magazine but they had some pretty strange ways of going about things that i side cut around.
The inlayed jatoba is to represent sheet music and the arms a type of cleff. Probably greek to anyone but a musician, my wife loved it so whatever.
Thanks for viewing.
Dand.

The most important thing is : your wife loving it.
