Hey all,
Been a while since I posted anything but I’ve been doing too much work-work and not enough fun-work. I busted out of my doldrums long enough to put together this Kokopelli pen kit as a present for a friend.
The kit was given to me but I believe it is a Berea Sierra kit. I’ve also been working on my photography skills a bit. This was taken using a very crude light box, some inappropriate halogen work lights and a rescued chunk of polished black granite countertop. The inlay was glued on with structural epoxy heavily tinted with Transtint mission brown dye to help hide any gaps. The resulting mess started out looking like a stick that was dipped in motor oil sludge but some quick work with a skew smoothed all that off and got me back down to nice wood. The pen was given six coats of flexible CA glue and sanded up to 1000 grit, hit with EEE and topped off with some Ren wax.
Thanks for looking,
Blue

Very nice pen I do love Kokopelli. I couldn’t find it on Berea’s website but I didn’t look that hard.

I wasn’t clear enough..the metal pen kit parts are from Berea (Sierra Elegant Beauty), the Kokopelli inlay kit is from Kallenshaan Woods.

Thanks Blue, I collect kokopelli and ghecko trinkets. The pen is very cool and haven’t seen any around my parts. I think I live in the kokopelli mecka. The street down the road is named kokopelli. Anyways, I’m a fan.
