GREEN HERON - Tupelo bird, carved basswood mount on Mahogany base

I had fun carving this bird. Not too many instructions came with the pattern so I winged it using pictures from the internet. I was told that blue and green should never be seen but all the pictures had both colours so I persevered and this is the result. Now all it takes is for the viewer to see a frog just below the lily pad waiting to meet his maker!

That is amazing!

So beautiful and natural. Love the waterlilies leaves and the base too.

I’ve seen a lot of these while fishing and your’s looks like the real deal to me. Good job.
