to form shapes of wood that are used for a table lamp base for instance
i can make hexagons, octagons etc. this way without drawing the shape first
i just calculate the angles and half width

Nice job. I usually bang my head against the wall before I get something like this cut out. Normally, I end up cutting all of the pieces separate and gluing them together. Thanks for the post.
