set of chairs

These are a set of chairs I did last fall. The client had two chairs and a table his deceased wife had found and “refinished” in brown paint. Wanted to have four matching chairs built, two with arms. I agreed without looking closely at the chair. Needless to say, a little more complex than I imagined. The rear legs were splayed and housed a slightly bent slat. The other pics are the hot pipe jig I made to bend the slats. The wood is oak painted with a chocolate brown lacquer.

Nicely done. If I made a set of chairs, no two would be alike. :-)

They look great. My guess is that the two on the ends are the originals. I like yours better.
