My wife’s dressing table stool was falling to bits so rather than repair it (again), I decided to make her a new one. This was a fairly simple design made out of European oak using some left over profiled skirting boards. I also had a go at making a new cushion as well. This was quite a fiddle but I had some expert tuition and enjoyed the experience. The finish was a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil and then a few coats of beeswax. I was pretty pleased with the finished result. My wife is happy as well. What more can I ask?

What a beautiful stool! Your finish matches the dressing table, the upholstered cushion is wonderful, and the wood is sanded to a visible, low-caste sheen that looks glowing and warm. Nice job!
