My son’s girl friend has a day care center and I made these “shoe tie teachers” for her. They are made of MDF, sealed prior to painting, painted with child safe paint and sealed again after painting. Fun project to make but the painting took the most time.

Good idea, nice work John!! I remember the first time I tied my shoes. I had to go show my dad and grandpa who was over that morning. I showed dad, but by the time I got to grandpa, they were almost undone. I couldn’t get it again!! :-(( On the way back to the house, I saw the mules my dad had brought home the night before after dark. They looked like the tallest animals in the world from my perspective. They were standing side by side, big long ears fixed on me looking down over the fence. What a morning to remember, but I can’t remember why grandpa was over there that morning.

A nice learning tool. I used these types of wooden shoes all the time in my schools. :) Your shoes will be used for years and years and years. A nice gift!
