This is one of my favorite pieces and was fun to make for an art gallery to display glass sculptures. All the peramiters I was given was eight pieces of 1/2 tick glass and asked to design something. I designed two cantalivered pieces crossing windows to gather light to refract into the glass sculptures. The 45 degree sections are figured anigre veneer wood with a wenge base and two gold plated cap nuts on the bottom base to give it the apperance of strenth holding down the pieces. The glass is 1/2’’ thick to support the cantalivered glass sculpture. I did not attatch the glass permanently I slotted it in so snug nothing was going to move. At the Art gallery opening people were mystified at the sheliving. Most said it was the best Art in the whole gallery. Working alone most of my life getting strokes on a liminted bases at functions inspires me to do better.

Looks cool! Is the base the only support or is it fastened somewhere else?
