This figure is carved in Australian Blackwood. (I think the wood name refers to the colour of the standing tree rather than the wood itself). She measures 15” x 6” x 6” .
I found the wood quite ‘splitty’ to work with. I am pleased with her overall shape, but its another one of those unfinished projects I’m afraid… Must make the time!

Finishing projects are overrated. Most of my projects are 50% to 95% complete. I get sidetracked easily.

Beautiful work.

Very nice work. I envy your skills. I tried carving in the past but have found my ‘nitch’ in INTARSIA.

Andrew, I’ve done a little carving in the past and that is a lot more “finished” than anything I ever did.

Just beautiful!
