I made several of these for Christmas presents but had one person who waited until after Christmas to ask for one. The entire birdhouse is only 3 1/2 inches long and is hollow to save weight. I use cutoffs from other projects to make these—-there is no such thing as scrap wood!! I found the little birds at Hobby Lobby and they were on sale for $1.00 for a card of 6. Quick and easy project on the lathe.
