These are the rest of my finished products which I still have. I have given a number of others away as personal gifts. The unfinished piece is the current rocking chair I am working on for my grand-daugter.

A lot of detail in these pieces!. I’m guessing the first 2 are trivets. What is the story behind the pieces in photos 3 and 5? They are all very impressive!

Steve,

The second piece is actual a card box which I did not show the side, it is not a trivet. The 3rd piece is a plate which is inscribed in Greek “IN Christ”. It is the same sign the the Emperor Constantine put on the shield of his soldiers before they fought the great battle against another Roman emperor. After Constantine won the battle he made the Christian religion the state religion which is now the Holy Roman Catholic Church which began the mixture of one religion with the state. I could tell you more but it has led to many things that are currently being fought over in our Constitution. The fifth piece is just a basswood board I made for my wife to decorate her shelf. It only has a personal significance to her and myself. I wasn’t attempting to make a statement as I did with the third piece.

These are very nice, Russell. I hope that I can learn how to chip carve. I started this passed weekend.
