My first acrylic pen with some lessons learned. Drill the holes slowly with more up-strokes to clear the bit than I care to count, be careful when roughing it down to round, and wet sanding this stuff is like making a pen from paper mache.

That said, I’m pretty happy with my first one :) I buffed it down to 12,000 with micromesh.

Thanks for looking.

People are so impressed when they see these. Every time I make one, I get lots of “you made that???” I guess it is because of the foreign material and it just throws people. Always really popular with customers. However boy does it stink when turning. If you do more of them, I advise looking into the Colt Parabolic bits. The cut the drilling time down significantly.

Thanks, Shannon. I do have some more so I’ll look into that bit. I didn’t notice the smell through my respirator, but when I took it off my first thought was that I fried a belt on the drill press LOL!
