A friend ask one day if I would be interested in building him a desk for his Ham Radio room.
The console measures 5’x7’ L shape X 30”

Wow, that’s great! Wonderful work.

Are there pull-outs for the keyboards or does he press his knees against the base cabinet doors?

or the doors slide open to stick legs in?

yes he slides the doors open to be comfortable…he has Push To Talk foot buttons to transmit on his radios.
Also with all the wires and cables he wanted them hidden w/in the cabinet.

It really does look big! No extra space once he loaded it up, however. Nice woodworking.

Looks like mission control over at NASA. Awsome job on the design. Looks like all of his gear is readily accessible, not one wire to be found, and from the looks of that gear I’m guessing there’s more than a couple wires there.

Jim,

Where was I when you first posted this? I don’t know how I missed it but I am glad that it came back up on my list. This is a wonderful desk. That thing is HUGE. And the finish is gorgeous.

Thanks for the post.
