Part of a commission to make 17 coin holders for a presentation ceremony.
The wood is Indian Don’t Know…it’s from India, but I don’t know what it is.
The bowl shape and the raised dias were on-the-lathe ideas.
The rose-colored wood is just an old red mahogany stain.
The finish is a 2-pound shellac to seal the grain, then a Beall polish with carnuba wax final.

I like the coin holders better than the coins. Good thing you have round coins. I’ve seen a lot that are rectangular, dog tag shaped, and even one that is the shape of Texas. Try to turn that on a lathe, haha.
