This unit has been used for awhile by 2 of my boys in their bedroom. The doors cannot currently close, because my son bought a television slightly larger than the unit will hold. It was designed for the TV to sit on the top and a stereo system to fit inside. All the components fit nicely when it was used as it was designed. It was my first attempt at raised panel doors on the bottom of the unit. It was made with walnut given to me by a woodworking friend. I would have liked to remove the XBox 360 unit for the photo, but my youngest son was in the middle of a “live” game on the internet, so I was unable to remove it from the top of the unit. It’s the only project I’ve made with walnut. Considering my lack of experience, I was pleased to finish this so it could be used.

Great job! Are the sides solid wood?

That is a fine entertainment center. The raised panels look like they came out very well.

For someone who quotes that they have a lack of experience, and produces something this well, you’ll really excell in the woodworking world! Keep it up!

The sides are solid walnut on this project. The positive comments are greatly appreciated! My lack of experience shows up in my pile of scrap wood that didn’t make the cut.

I think the raised panel doors look amazing. i have been wanting to give them a try, but haven’t bought a bit in order to take the plunge. Welcome to Lumberjocks.

Top notch work. This must be English Walnut, nice light color.

The raised panels came out great Alphie as did the Oak cabinet you posted. Experience or not, the work speaks for itself and it looks to me like you’re a pretty talented woodworker.

-- I've cut that board three times and it's still too short!
