These two doors were carved from 5/4 soft maple and measure 20×32”.
The design is based on a photograph of a pair of old Torah Ark Doors from a Synagouge
in Poland which was destroyed by fire some time in the 1700’s. My wife created
a drawing from the photo. All the sawing was done with a coping saw.

Dan,

Those doors are absolutely gorgeous! Your carving is really outstanding. It must have taken a lot of time to cut the menorah and flowers with a coping saw.
