Just a small box made of maple and purpleheart. I used the plans from the November or December issue of Wood Magazine. The finish is Minwax spray can lacquer.

Your box came out really nice. I like the combination of purpleheart and maple. Purpleheart is one really hard wood but looks nice when the right color of purple is reached.

Great job on the box!! Did you use aluminum for the lift handle? I just got that magazine it’s great!!!

Thanks for all the compliments!
@Greg I’ve found that purpleheart is a pain to work with, especially to route, but once it’s finished it’s work the effort. To reach the right color I leave my purpleheart out in the sun until I get the desired color, then I finish it.

@WoodworkingGeek I didn’t use aluminum for the handle I use d a small piece of scrap maple. IN the future I really want to turn a finial on my new lathe.

Great work on your box. You did a better job on the legs than I did.
