This is my very first carving,. It was carved using a utility knife/razor knife. I was sitting in the wood shop one morning watching the news and getting warmed by the wood stove and decided to give carving a shot. It is aprox. 2.5 inches tall.
Little did I know it would turn into somthing that I truely love to waste time on….lol.

I wouldn’t call it a waste of time, you should be proud.

This is great, Jim!

I could use one of those for my office, but with just one of the fingers extended. :-)

(Okay, that’s bad, but it is Monday, after all.)

Yes my very first…I showed it to a friend that belongs to our local carving guild. He invited me to join and give carving a try.
Charlie…. I actually carved that exact Bird as I call it. It was carved in Bolivian rose wood for a friend.

Based on most of your projects, I’d say you have a craving for carving. Nice work.
