This is a clock frame I did in 2004. The clock mechanism is by Hermle. I bought the whole thing, Dismantled the case and made a new one. I love the sleek lines of the carcase and splayed the legs a bit so it won’t topple over. Unfortunately, this was the only photo I took of it before it was shipped out. The case is made from Narra and is sealed with glass at the rear side. The frame of the door is in Saplungan while the legs are yakal. The handle is ebony ad the stretchers for the legs are made from Ironwood. The crown is from Molave and Ipil. I still hope to get my hands on another one of this clocks and design another frame around it. Hopefully this time…I get to keep it! :)

That is a very interesting clock, Benji. Is that a glass back as well? My maternal grand father was a watch maker, not to be confused with a repairman. When He went to Elgin watch college around the first world war, he had to make a working clock from scratch. Gears and all. If he were alive today, I know he would have talked about this for at least a year to everyone that came into his shop.
Beautiful work of art.

Stunning, very interesting. I take it that this particular clock type is hard to come by.

Something old with a new twist. Very creative and with so much grace. You have a fine sense of balance and style.

Great work.

And I’m asking your permision to use part of it…, the unique leg design just what I’m looking for. I’m making a ‘compact table for my daughter, and I’ve been searching for such a unique design for the leg.

I’m also two months behind! I didn’t open this until I had a chance to admire your work and I knew I would be in for a treat. What I love the most about this piece is the lovely balance of the positive and negative space. The anthropomorphic elements make me smile. Thank you my friend for another inspiring piece of work.
