so what is an eisteddfod, well baisicily its a competition that happens every year in Wales that people take part in for all sorts of things, singing dancing and poetry. A chair is awarded for the best poem that was sent in.
so, what is yfc?? it stands for young farmers club. its baisicly a youth club nowadays but started of as a club for farmers to do stuff in. There is also a yfc eisteddfod, a competition for the members of the club.
so last year the comity came to me ( a yfc member who is only 16) and asked me to build the national chair for the poetry competition. so i said yes and made this.

Its mainly oak with two pieces of mahogany on the back and some mahogany inlay squares on the top and under the seat. it also has some leather on the seat and back. i turned the front legs and mortice and tenoned all of the joints

Really nice chair. Wow 16? You are very skilled! Can you explain how you did the cushions?

I am trying to figure out what is more prestigious.

Winning the chair, or getting asked, at 16, to build it.

I think you are both winners. Congratulations on a job will done.

Great craftsmanship. Do they teach woodworking in your schools? You sure have a good start at a lifelong hobby.

Looks like a world class maker in the making!

So, do you get a framed, hand lettered copy of the poem?
